Designing Hats and Writing Publishing Party!

Students planned and designed hats to protect us from the sun (we are stranded on a desert island!) using only materials that washed up on the shore. They were curious, creative and flexible Scientists!

We enjoyed sharing our published books together with a flashlight party! Students made covers, colored illustrations and edited and revised their books to show off their best small moment writing!

Coin Trading and Potato Bar

Students have been practicing their mental math by trading and collecting coins. We also enjoyed the potatoes we harvested by having a baked potato bar celebration which Mr. Bouchard baked in the outdoor oven today! Thanks Mr. Bouchard!

Students have been building up their reading and writing muscles over the last few weeks! We chose our favorite book to publish in the hallway. Students used a checklist to double check their work.

Hopes, Goals and Heros

Students chose a hope or goal for second grade and then we created rules that we need from ourselves and each other to achieve them. Mr. Williams read us a book about a Hero from 9/11 and each student created their own Hero for the display that will be outside of the school next week! Great job, friends!
